OUR VISION STATEMENT: F. R. E. E. |
|
A vision is simply a statement about God's intention for us as the people of God at Kingsburg Covenant Church. It's what He wants us to focus on. It's the compass we are gong to use to make sure that we are moving the right direction. We want to follow Jesus where He leads us.
At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus clearly spelled out the vision for His work on Earth:
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to prclaim the year of the Lord's favor." -- Jesus, Luke 4:18-19
We hear the theme of our vision resonating withing the words spoken by our King. Our vision reflects His. Seems appropriate, doesnt' it? Being called to follow Jesus, we can't help but follow His lead of finding, releasing, embracing and equipping others! So our vision is summed up with one word: FREE...
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. -- Galatians 5:1
JESUS SETS US FREE TO FOLLOW HIM!
